We also have the extra plus of having a teaching hospital in town – Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). With the facilities available at MUSC, many talented Lasik doctors live in Mt. It is my preference to work with a local Mt. Pleasant or Charleston doctor instead of dealing with a national Lasik center. While the price may seem attractive, I consider my vision too valuable to be trusted to someone who is not established in Mt. Pleasant, West Ashley or Charleston.
If you have a problem, I’m going to want to see a doctor and not have to dial a toll free and hope I don’t get put on hold. If you are considering a Lasik procedure, it may be worthwhile, especially you have different health insurance options available at your work, to see which one will cover Lasik and change to that plan for a year. It could save you thousands of dollars.
